We are celebrating our 1 Year Anniversary at the Mariner's/Red Sox game!

What a perfect way to celebrate, huh? Our beloved Red Sox are in town and we are huge fans, RIGHT!RIGHT???

Hubby says no! He's a Mariner's fan now because we have a 16 game pass!

WHAT???

I am in disbelief!

I think he tricked me!

Travis took me to my first NFL game, preseason NFL game, but an NFL game non the less! Hubby is a HUGE packers fan and I and the best PACKER in the world after my time at IRS, so together, we are truly PACKERS FANS!

OK, so we bought a house, haven't moved yet, but Hubby went in to take some photos for me during the inspection a few weeks ago! I will share them now!

Regret

I was on the phone with my mom today and she made a comment to me about how cool it would have been if I would have actually followed through in doing this blog, now that we are finally purchasing our first home! She had such a good point and it was one of the first times I realized that I had made a HUGE mistake when I didn't follow through with this project!

The only thing that could save me is that I have been writing daily in a journal (a HUGE feat for me) and have a lot of photos to look at over the past year.

Now, having a week off, I plan to sit down for a bit each day and try to recapture the moments that Travis and I shared here in the RV. I know it isn't the same, but I have to have some sort of closure to this project in order to move on to the next endeavor!

With that being said, I guess the best place to start is where we are today. We found a house in Kent, Wa, which means we will be staying in the PacNW. This is exciting news because it means we will be moving out of the RV after a year of RV Living! We are all packed up and ready to go, but we still have no idea when we will be closing.
I was hoping to close on the house so that I would have this week to move and unpack, but it looks like that won't be happening. I truly believe that things happen for a reason and that reason is TIME TO FINISH UNFINISHED PROJECTS!!!
Now, not only are we counting down the days to our new house, we are also counting down the days to see if we are pregnant this month! We decided it would be best to start fertility treatments to help us conceive and last Friday was our first IUI. That means we are in a 2 WEEK WAIT to see if it worked!

Now that we have 2 major events going on right now, I AM GOING CRAZY waiting!!!

I decided to take this week to get back into cooking and trying a few recipes and finishing a few art projects that I left behind when I started working. I also will be taking a few days to spend some time with a few good friends, which will be wonderful since there might be a chance we'll be able to do a little shopping IF things go well! Hopefully, these things will keep my mind occupied!

Today, I am making some Tomato-Bread Soup, from my favorite source for recipes, Martha Stewart's Everyday Food Magazine! I highly recommend purchasing a subscription to this if you are new to cooking! The recipes are super impressive to serve while staying super easy to make!
While I am cooking, I will be listening to my Red Sox ( another thing I have neglected these past 3 months!) try to advance towards the playoffs!

Now, that I have the "Happy Ending" to our RV Living, I will take some time this week to fill in the missing pieces to complete our RV journey! Any posts from here on out will have the date in the title!

Pumpkin Carving RV-Style!

This year is going to be a bit different when it comes to celebrating the holidays! Halloween will be the first holiday that I will try to decorate for while living in the RV. This is a great alternative to pumpkin carving. It is cheaper than a pumpkin, easier to carry and won't spoil! Also, you can use it around Thanksgiving to make pumpkin pie!

That reminds me of a time when I was young... We spent the evening carving our pumpkins for Halloween and set them out front for decoration. Night after night, we'd light them to celebrate Halloween. One night I noticed mine was missing! I was so upset! Come to find out, my aunt used it for the holiday pumpkin pie! I was sad, but the pie was delicious!

There isn't much space to hang stuff around here, so I decided to make a panel for my art and things out of my old license plates.

I used big safety pins to connect them together and then to hang them from the ceiling.

SEE EVERYONE! I TOLD YOU THERE WAS A GOOD REASON I KEPT THESE FOR SO LONG!

I began thinking that they would be magnetic, but soon found out they weren't... But that's ok because I have tons of butterfly clips! * just thought of another idea! DECORATE THE BUTTERFLY CLIPS!! LOL*

Now, I have a place to display my work. I love my art cubby!

Mom makes it look SEW easy!

I think I have made my mom "sew" happy since I started sewing! I have grown up watching her sew and have always had a yearning to do it, but it seemed like every time I tried, the machine gummed up on me and I never took the time to learn how to rethread it!

I decided since I am going to hopefully be a mother soon, that it was time to do as my mother does. Sew things! Cool things! Useful things!

The most useful thing I could think of was a baby blanket! I am hoping to be able to use them VERY soon, but until that day comes I will spend my time practicing!

Here is what I made today!

My first attempt at sewing worked out fine until I went to turn it right-side out! I realized I had sewn the wrong sides together!

REDO!

I put the blanket thru the machine again after I thought I fixed it only to find out, AGAIN, when I went to turn it right-side out, it was still wrong!

Finally, I got it right!

Finished it! The right way!

Now to sew some more!

WINTERSONG

What my winter wonderland would look like!

Christmas is coming and since we are in the "woods", "camping" I thought it would be nice to work that feel into our decorations for fall and winter this year. I am so in love with woodland creatures and have some fun ideas for the RV as far as decor goes. We won"t have the Christmas tree and decorations out like normal, but we will have something! I am going to get started now on a couple project for fall that can be changed easily into winter decorations with a few add ons.

Winter song is a new line of scrapbooking paper that I have fallen in love with!

These will be my colors for winter.

I can't wait to get started on my ideas for sewing projects and paper projects to help transfer the RV into a Winter Song Wonderland!

Alaskan Halibut

I have made a delicious meal 4 days in a row!! I am really very proud of myself. Having lived a single life for so long, my cooking skills were very bad. I love preparing the menu for the week and getting the groceries for it. I can select the perfect item for each dinner and add my own twist to things, which is what I do best!

Earlier this week, we talked about having fresh fish sometime this week and

when I went shopping, nothing looked tasty enough to buy so I decided to not get anything yet. Then that evening, our neighbor returned from his very successful fishing trip from Alaska and brought over salmon and halibut! I giggled when I thought back to my fish dilemma at the store and was excited at the possibilities for the meal this week!

Since we I didn't get enough of the fish and chips in Kauai, I decided to try my own!

I decided to use up the rest of the veggies from the week and mix it in with the heavily season "chips". I baked them for an hour and they were perfect!

The thought of me frying the fish in extremely hot oil made Hubby a bit nervous. I told him not to worry because I clearly remembered Papa burning a hole in the kitchen floor as a kid and that I for sure realized how hot it was!

Then BANG!! The big mixing spoon slipped out of my hand and clanked around in the oil pan! Hubby jumped up and looked at me funny! I just laughed!

Frying the chunks were not at all as hard as I had expected. It only took about 5 mins for them to cook!

Hubby gave it 4 stars!

We went to the Farmers Market again last night and purchased another bouquet!

It is amazing how easy these add a little pep to the RV!

Chicken Tacos AKA The Best Dinner EVER!

I got my new Everyday Food mag in the mail and saw the recipe for Chicken Tacos and I about DIED!! They looked SOOOOO GOOD!

Tonight was a perfect time to try them!

It is super easy! Fry the chicken and add fajita seasoning.

Chop up onions, cilantro, avacados, limes and jalapenos.

Get salsa verde and small white corn tortillas. Warm up the tortillas and load them up!

Be sure to wash them down with a few Corinitas!

Here is the latest project I am working on. Super simple and a fun and inexpensive way to protect your itouch while carrying it around or even listening to it. Keeps things from scratching it without adding bulk to the super sleek design that I love about the product!

I have a candy corn one for Halloween, a Bronco one for football season, and a mistletoe one

for Christmas!

Comfort Food

Since Hubby wasn't feeling very good, I decided to make him something that my sisters and I grew up with!

HAMBURGER PIE!

You all probably have your own family version of this, but my Mom makes it the best way!

First of all, fry up the hamburger with some onion and garlic salt. Boil and mash the potatoes and be sure to add butter and a bit of sour cream and some milk.

Mom uses canned green beans and canned corn, but since I got freshies at the market, I cut fresh corn off the cob and cut up fresh green beans too...

Add a can of tomato soup to the beef and boil the green beans for 5 mins then add veggies to the beef.

Then add the beef & veggies to the cake pan and then cover with the mashies.

Then it's time to pop it in the oven! I am cooking with propane, so temp and times vary... You are only heating it up throughout, everything is already cooked, so I did 25 mins at 350. You will start to see the tomato soup absorb into the mashies, thats when I pull it out and add shredded cheddar cheese and keep it in until it is melted and a bit crusty! Be sure to have a cold glass of milk ready and soft white bread and butter! Load up the buttered bread with Hamburger Pie and fold in half!

Boy, does this meal take me back!

Our Hawaiian Honeymoon

Today is a sad day for Travis and I. It is time for me to go back to Caldwell to get ready for our wedding... Bittersweet! I am going to miss our Daily RV life... I am going to miss snuggling with my baby. I am going to miss making dinners and taking the dogs to the river. I am going to miss kissing him goodbye every morning before work and greeting him at the door every evening...

Three Girls and Their Buddy

Travis and I went to our first concert together last night! Emmylou Harris, Shawn Colvin, Patty Griffin and Buddy Miller played at the Woodland Park Zoo, in the round! It was an amazing show and the weather was perfect! We packed a picnic and a blanket and played cribbage while listening to the show!

Date Night!

Travis asked me out on a date! We went our first Mariners game together! against the Padre's! Over the years we have either been at the same games or have met up at some point but this game was OUR FIRST ONE TOGETHER!

Looks like we weren't the only ones out on a date!

He found himself a HOTTIE!

He was so sweet! He bought me peanuts AND cracker jacks!

Since Travis and I first started talking about me moving up here, I was excited to be able to go the farmers markets for our fruits and veggies. I imagined picking up a fresh flower bouquet for the table and carrying my groceries in a canvas tote. Walking hand in hand being inspired to create a great dinner. Then going home, cooking together and playing house!

I'm lovin' it!

Maybe not very cost effective, but still very much worth every penny! There is such a huge difference in market veggies compared to grocery store veggies.

Now all I need is a cute little tote to carry my goods in!

That will be my next project!

For dinner we ended up making the best sandwiches ever! Thick sliced bread, black forest ham, turkey, red bell pepper and provolone.

YUM!

Then, this morning I woke up early to make thick sliced french toast with fresh strawberry topping! Only bad thing was when we realized we had no syrup!

As for today, Travis has asked me on a date! Mariners baseball game! I will be ready to go by 5pm with camera in tow!
